Start
- The local Stepping Stones Bali team started its first activities in Indonesia this year
2015
Pilot baby health clinic
- Tukad Sumaga became the first village where we delivered training, informing parents about the early detection of children with disabilities
2016
Official registration
- After having operated under social service for several years, we became nationally registered
2017
Clubfoot
- We started a clubfoot centre for facilitating complete treatment and guidance for children born with a clubfoot
2017
University
- We started focusing on collaborations with the midwife and nursing school in the North Bali district
2018
Hospital
- We began collaborating with Kertha Usada hospital to continue and improve medical care for children with a clubfoot
2019
Training
- We expanded the training for medical staff and midwives’ assistants at the baby health clinic and for social workers in the villages
2021
Support per district
- We shifted our focus from working on demand in villages to a multifaceted approach in sub-districts at local and district level
2022
Rehabilitation
- We began offering physiotherapy at our location in North Bali, delivered by a partner organisation. Through collaboration we also expanded our support for special education, medical walking aids, wheelchairs and medical care
2023
Ponseti treatment from beginning to the end
- The first children have succeeded their complete clubfoot treatment with stepping stones bali. The 3 phases acomplished with prosperity. All these winners receive their certificates
2024
Start Clubfoot clinic in Java
- At set times a year, we go to Java for the check-ups of the children who are in the clubfoot treatment.
Our future stepping stones
Care outside Bali
- Having seen the high demand for support from across Indonesia, we aim to develop collaborations with orthopaedists, doctors and NGOs in areas such as Java, East Nusa Tengarra, Kalimantan and Sumatra
